You are tired of ironing your clothes. There is a very easy trick that will save you time. You’ll also feel like your laundry has been through a good steam iron. Just grab this little ingredient from your freezer and in a few minutes you’ll have smooth, wrinkle-free laundry. Find out how to do it.
How to get perfectly ironed laundry?
Every week, we take time to the maintenance of our house and many other complementary tasks such as laundry, often perceived as “hard”. However, it should not be, since washing machines, dryers and irons have taken over nowadays. However, it is certain that we lack the time to take out an ironing board before going to work in the morning. To avoid this, there is a simple trick that allows you to minimize or even get rid of the use of the iron.
To get wrinkle-free items, all you need is a washing machine that also has the function of a dryer or have these two appliances separate. You should also have some ice cubes from your freezer. Next, you’ll need to follow these steps.
Put your laundry in the washing machine by activating the drying mode
To begin, put your laundry in your washing machine. You must then activate the drying mode during a normal wash cycle. Set the temperature as high as possible. Tip: A lower temperature will not give the same result.
Take your clothes (sweaters, shirts, pants, jeans, skirts, etc.) out to dry thoroughly before putting them back in the drum. It is advisable not to overfill the drum so that the drying is effective.
Throw some ice cubes into your washing machine or dryer
Collect 3 to 4 ice cubes from your freezer to throw in the dryer. Put them in the drum. It’s best to wait a little while until the clothes are completely dry before starting this process.
Ice cubes are also used to effectively remove stains from textiles (clothes, chairs, cushions, blankets). Place them on the stain in question and wait for the ice to melt.
Spin your laundry in the drum for about ten minutes
After putting the ice cubes in your washing machine or dryer if it is not integrated into the washing machine. Start again a drying cycle and wait five to ten minutes before taking your laundry out. You will notice that your items will be smooth and wrinkle free. The heat will melt the ice cubes, creating a steam that will smooth the clothes, like an iron.
Store clothes directly after drying them
In order to achieve a perfect result, it is advisable to put the clothes away directly after following these instructions. It is possible to fold the clothes and put them directly back in their place or put them on hangers. This way, you will avoid having to take out your iron again.
Tennis balls can also be used during a drying cycle. One or two balls are enough to help you dry your clothes quickly.
- It is advisable to first test this tip on fabrics that are not likely to be damaged.
- Too high a temperature during a drying cycle can damage clothes and cause them to shrink. Always match the temperature to the type of fabric being washed and always use the right amount of steam. To do this, take the time to check the labels before putting your clothes in the machine.
- Tennis balls should be changed regularly. If they are washed too often, they can get holes in them and become heavier, damaging the washing machine.
No need to take out your ironing board or steam iron. From now on, laundry will no longer be a chore with this easy ironing technique.
